SOUND DESIGN
Ryan has devoted many years of his life to the vibrant world of theatre, where he has honed his skills in sound mixing, particularly for musicals. This dedication has naturally led him to delve deeper into the realm of sound design specifically for musical theatre. He firmly believes that no matter the size or scale of the production, it is crucial for the sound design to effectively communicate the emotions and actions taking place on stage, ultimately enhancing the overall experience for the audience.
We find ourselves in incredibly exciting era of sound design in theatre, where advancements in technology have opened up new possibilities for manipulating sound in ways that were previously unimaginable. This innovation allows sound designers like Ryan to create both beautiful and dramatic soundscapes that can take the audience an immersive journey, further enriching the storytelling experience.
Ryan was the sound designer for two of British Youth Music Theatre's 2024 productions, which include "The Power of Camelot" and "Unbound: A New Musical." The production of "Unbound" received outstanding acclaim from both the press and the public. Following this success, he was invited to return as the sound designer for a concert version of "Unbound" at Hoxton Hall in London, which was a resounding success.

Most recently, Ryan was the associate sound designer for Chris Whybrow on Friends - The Musical Parody at The Barn Theatre and the UK and Ireland tour of the production.
